Κάτι που ήταν αναμενόμενο καθώς η Ford έχει επιστρέψει στην κατηγορία των σπορ μοντέλων με το ολοκαίνουργιο GT. Πάνω στην έκδοση παραγωγής θα βασιστεί το αγωνιστικό που του χρόνου θα κάνει πρεμιέρα στην κατηγορία GTE-Pro, γιορτάζοντας την πρώτη νίκη της Ford το 1966 στο Le Mans.

Το ντεμπούτο θα γίνει στον 24ώρο αγώνα της Daytona -τον ερχόμενο Ιανουάριο στην Φλόριδα- με τις δύο ομάδες να διαχειρίζεται η Chip Ganassi Racing, ενώ το αγωνιστικό GT θα συμμετάσχει σε όλο το πρόγραμμα του πρωταθλήματος WEC (World Endurance Championship), καθώς και στο πρωτάθλημα TUDOR. Την κίνηση θα αναλαμβάνει ο V6 Ecoboost των 3,5 lt με διπλό τούρμπο, ενώ θα υπάρχει ένα πλήρες αεροδυναμικό πακέτο με μια τεράστιο πτέρυγα στο πίσω μέρος σε συνδυασμό με μία επίσης μεγάλο διαχύτη, όπως μπορείτε και στις φωτογραφίες.
